CIA Funded the ‘Moderate Muslim Brotherhood’ Narrative and is Opposed to Designating Them as a Terrorist Group

With morons like this, who the hell needs the Muslim Brotherhood?

From Pajamas Media

The CIA has published an analysis claiming that designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization could “fuel extremism,” Politico is reporting today.

Quite conveniently, this internal CIA analysis found its way into the hands of Politico reporters.

But oddly, the article fails to mention that the CIA and the U.S. intelligence community were directly involved in funding the experts who pushed the bogus “moderate Muslim Brotherhood” narrative beginning in the latter end of the Bush administration.

This hand-wringing is in response to reports that the Trump administration is actively discussing such a designation.

Needless to say, the Washington, D.C. foreign policy “smart set” and the media who have been openly disdainful of the White House’s considerations are wetting themselves at news of the CIA’s analysis.

……According to our late PJ Media colleague Barry Rubin, the CIA paid for the research and travel expenses for then-Nixon Center researcher Robert Leiken and his younger colleague Stephen Brooke to travel around the Middle East and Europe meeting with Muslim Brotherhood leaders. They reportedly met with Muslim Brotherhood members in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Tunisia, the UK, Spain, and elsewhere.

This resulted in a still-classified paper commissioned by the National Intelligence Council and, according to Barry Rubin, paid for through a CIA contract. Barry Rubin was hired to write the rebuttal to the Leiken/Brooke paper.

This became the basis for an article by Leiken and Brooke in the March/April 2007 issue of Foreign Affairs entitled, “The Moderate Muslim Brotherhood.” This one article became the basis for virtually every single talking point in support of the Muslim Brotherhood parroted by the “smart set” and the media.

At the time, I wrote a three-part criticism of the Leiken/Brooke Foreign Affairsarticle. (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)

……given the CIA and the U.S. intelligence community’s role in funding and marketing the “moderate Muslim Brotherhood” narrative from its inception, to have this new CIA analysis fall into the lap of D.C. reporters at the very moment that the White House is debating the move raises serious questions about the intelligence community’s continued interference in domestic and foreign policy discussions.

So, the CIA sent these two lackeys on a mission to get talking points that fit the CIA’s ‘moderate’ meme.  They got taken in by the practice of Taqiyya and swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

Let’s not call a spade a spade. They’re not terrorists, they’re incorrigible delinquents. They just need hugs and jobs.

The Muslim Brotherhood, et al, didn’t suddenly become terrorists because they were called terrorists. They earned that designation through their facilitation and support of Islamic terrorism worldwide.

Background on the Muslim Brotherhood:

The terrorist group was founded in 1928 by the Egyptian schoolteacher/activist Hasan al-Banna (a devout admirer of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis), the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) — a Sunni entity — is one of the oldest, largest and most influential Islamist organizations in the world. While Egypt historically has been the center of the Brotherhood’s operations, the group today is active in more than 70 countries (some estimates range as high as 100+). Islam expert Robert Spencer has calledMB “the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda.”   The Muslim Brotherhood has even formed its own U.S.-based political party.

In case anyone doubts the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood, this is their motto:

“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. Allahu akbar!”

They’re not the only ones. The Arab American Action Network  and CAIR, also facilitators of Islamic terrorism, operate freely in the United States.   They have no damned business being in this country.

The Obama doctrine of supporting and pandering to muzzie terrorists is still prevalent in the CIA hierarchy.

I was an Intelligence Analyst for the better part of my Army career. I served in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I grew increasingly frustrated with the PC influence on decision-making, especially at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where I was stationed for two years before I retired.  A touchy-feely approach to the enemy has no place on the battlefield or in the agencies tasked with assessing the threat.

The intelligence community is full of subversive slugs. Time to drain that swamp, too.
