Building Walls ‘Not Christian’ Says Pope Who Lives Behind Walled-in Vatican

Popes who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

From Fox News.

Pope Francis questioned Donald Trump’s Christianity Thursday over the Republican presidential hopeful’s plan to build a wall on the Mexican border, but the pontiff himself lives behind massive stone walls.

Speaking from Mexico as he departed from a weeklong tour in which he spoke before millions, His Holiness took a direct shot at Trump, who has made his plan to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it a centerpiece of his campaign.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Pope Francis said. “This is not in the Gospel.”

Trump supporters quickly took to the Internet, noting the irony of the pope’s comment.

    Mikey.
That’s not the point. The Pope lives in a very sheltered protected environment. He doesn’t think us peons should enjoy the same protection. Moreover, a nation without borders and laws is not a nation. We have a right to sovereignty and security. If you think open borders which allow just anyone to enter the country is a good idea, you have a crap factory for a brain. Illegals and terrorists are not ‘refugees’, nor are they legitimate asylum seekers. I want common sense security for my country. For decades, the government has failed to provide for the common defense as outlined in the constitution. If the Pope thinks open borders and no walls are so great, let him take in some of those muzzie ‘refujihadists’ invading Europe right now.
Your view is pretty absurd given the reality of modern threats and terrorism.

  2. Such a lame argument. Did Francis build the Vatican’s walls? Trump wants to. He probably envies the engineering! In every way he is able to, the Pope has been trying to tear DOWN walls, while Trump and his supporters are all about the siege mentality, more fortifications, more boundaries, walling America off from the rest of the world.
