John Dingell, Longest Serving Dem Miscreant in Congress Finally Retiring

Too bad the old rat turd hasn’t dropped dead. Seriously.

From Fox News.

Michigan Democratic Rep. John Dingell, the longest-serving member of Congress in U.S. history, will not seek reelection to another term.

The 87-year-old lawmaker has served in the House since 1955, when he filled the seat vacated by his late father. He is expected to make the announcement Monday.

Dingell has played a role in a number of major pieces of legislation, including President Obama’s health care overhaul.

Dingell was chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee until he lost the post to California Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman in 2009. It was widely thought that Dingell, representing Detroit, was unable to move climate change legislation known as “cap and trade” through his committee — after the gavel transferred to Waxman’s hand, the committee moved the bill, as well as the health care overhaul, through the House. Cap-and-trade, unlike ObamaCare, died in the Senate.

The retirement was reported first by The Detroit Free-Press and Detroit News.

His role in the ObamaCare disaster is just one of his many ‘accomplishments’.  Dingell once remarked that it would be necessary to ‘control the people’ in order to force ObamaCare on America. He thinks wasting millions of dollars on Obama’s eco-scams was a nifty idea. He called scrutinizing the radical muslim threat in the United States, “McCarthyism”. He also accused Tea Party opponents of being reminiscent of the KKK, and counted himself as one of the many Dem supporters of the terrorist facilitating organization CAIR.

The worst thing about assholes like Dingell is their longevity; they occupy office way too long and inflict damage over an inordinate amount of time. Another crapweasel who has been in office too long is  John Conyers (D-MI), and he’ll get the ‘longest serving’ title if Michigan re installs him in November.

“I’m not going to be carried out feet first,” said Dingell. “I don’t want people to say I stayed too long.”

Too late.

Term limits, anyone?

True. Also, never bet against Repubs’ ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
That said, call me a cockeyed optimist but I’ve a feeling that November’s elections are going to put 2010’s upheaval in the shade . . .

I’m reasonably sure the GOP will gain seats in the Senate, but never underestimate the stupidity of the American (Dem, in particular) voter. They will re-install the same leftwing slugs until they croak.

The real reason he’s retiring is to get gone before he loses his next election and the Dims lose the Senate and more of the House . . .
