Message to Ron Paul and the Paulbots: You’re as Nutty as a Squirrel Turd

Ron Paul classifies himself as a “Republican”, but looking at his record, it’s hard to tell what party he’s from let alone what planet.
His platform includes limited government, a strong stance against illegal aliens, lowering taxes, and changing to a gold standard for our currency. All well and good, but just when he starts making sense, he veers off the crazy cliff.

He professes never to vote for legislation unless it is authorized by the constitution, but he doesn’t have a good grasp of the document.  He accused the United States of attempting to stage a Gulf of Tomkin incident to go to war with Iran, as if we need to concoct a reason. He goes along with the 9/11 Truther idiots.  He has a considerable history of bat-shit crazy conspiracy theories, mostly about Jews.  He thinks going after Bin Laden was ‘not necessary’.  He call us ‘war mongers’,  and blames America for Islamic terrorism, in spite of the fact that violent Islamic theocracy has existed since the 7th Century.  He claims, in the face of contradictory evidence, that “enhanced interrogations do not work”, and that by fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, we ‘did what Bin Laden wanted’.

Furthermore, he trivialized the 9/11 attacks as an act of “air piracy,” and initiated an asinine Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001, which would have targeted specific terrorist suspects, with no authority to actually go to war with the hostile countries that breed and harbor them. Of course, Paul never gives a good explanation of how he would handle things if he were in charge during a 9/11 style attack. I can see him giving a an unbelievably stupid speech about minding our own business.  We could pull every American military member out of the Middle East and muzzie extremists would still come here and try to kill us, because their avowed goal is to destroy the West; America in particular. 

And lookie here, Ron was endorsed in the 2008 campaign by the radical muslim shitbags in Michigan.

He really should read some of the quotes from the type of muslim zealots he defends:

“Islam is not a religion rather an ideology, complete comprehensive way of life that ruled most of the world for nearly 1400 years. This contemporary jihad should aspire with the same breath of influence. Allah sent messenger Mohamed with the deem to dominate the earth and implement the justice of Islam. For this domination, the Muslims need a power base from which the another nations can be annexed. This power base is the establishment of the Islamic state, khilafah”

Paul also has an interesting selection of friends. He’s a good pal of Lew Rockwell, another radical liberal nutcase who dances back and forth across the line separating anti-statism and anti-Americanism. Rockwell is a real piece of work. 

Paul’s followers aren’t much better.

When they’re not trying to mint their own money, they act like Code Pink,  and they spam polls.

I hate to break it to Paul and his bots, but he’ll never get nominated by the Republican party.  He and his fans are dwellers on the lunatic fringe.  The majority of the Republican party and the bulk of the Tea Party reject him outright.  The farcical “straw poll” he won at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will give his bots a thrill but won’t have any effect on the presidential contest.

If all goes well, this moonbat will be redistricted out of office.

……the Paul campaign is not just a campaign for president. This is a campaign — a serious campaign — to re-educate the American people to an alternate universe of reality. A campaign that goes far beyond whatever will happen at the polls in 2012.

And sorry to say, this re-education campaign does not present a pretty picture of itself.

Looming over the interesting and appealing ideas of the Paul campaign is a veritable political tornado of allegations involving anti-Semitism, racism, pacifism, far left-wingism and, at the edges, a tiny flicker of intimidation.
So let’s spill it all out on the table and take a look.

Neoliberals and Quasi-Cons:

When it comes to foreign policy, Ron Paul and his supporters are not conservatives.

This is important to understand when one realizes that Paul’s views are, self-described, “non-interventionist.”

The fact that he has been allowed to get away with pretending to conservatism on this score is merely reflective of journalists who, for whatever reason, are simply unfamiliar with American history. Ironically, it is precisely because the Paul campaign has not been thoroughly covered that no one pays attention to the historical paternity of what the candidate is saying.

……So if Ron Paul is conservative on domestic issues, but of a like mind with liberal non-interventionists of both parties, what precisely is Ron Paul?

The right term is certainly not conservative.

The proper term for Paul and his followers, then, would take into account this political half horse/half man philosophical creativity. Conservative on domestic policy, a staunch advocate of historically liberal views on foreign policy.

Ron Paul is what might be called a “Neo-Liberal.” Or even a “Quasi-Conservative.”

Paul’s anti-semitism:

In his book The Revolution: A Manifesto​, Congressman Paul includes at the end a section called “A Reading List for a Free and Prosperous America.” And on that recommended reading list?

Here’s the entry, in full:

“Flynn, John T. As We Go Marching. Garden City, N.Y.: Doubleday, 1944. Flynn, an accomplished journalist, analyzes fascism in Italy and Germany and concludes by considering the state of America in his day.”

That’s right. Congressman Paul is recommending the writings of a man who, in his day, was seen as a driving force behind the anti-Semitic liberal Republican Senator Nye and the Senate investigation into Jewish influence in Hollywood.

……The Ron Paul campaign is really about re-educating America to what can only be called Neoliberalism. Which, based on the evidence and writings of its supporters, appears to be a thin gruel of free markets and non-interventionism seasoned heavily with anti-Semitism, morally obtuse Neo-Confederates, and an outspoken contempt for both conservatism and conservative leaders past and present.

The hard to understand part is why Mr. Paul let’s himself be associated with this shameful, shameful stuff.
